THE SUMMER SEASON
May and June are the hottest months in our country. They are our summer months.
In this season the sun is very hot.
Rivers, ponds, and wells dry up and small plants cannot grow.
The days are longer and the nights are shorter.
Men and animals feel thirsty.
People use fans to cool their sweating bodies.
We cannot do our lessons in the heat and schools close for a long holiday.
The market is full of ripe mangoes, jack-fruits, pineapples, and watermelons.
The hot and dry earth thirsts for rain.
