The shopkeeper is the man or woman who sells foodstuffs like Rice, Dal, Ghee, Oil, Gur, Salt etc. In a big room, he keeps these. goods in large, shallow baskets in rows. In another room near it, he keeps a store of the things. When the things from the shop are sold away, his servant gets them from the store.

The shopkeeper sits on a wooden chair in the middle of the shop. He keeps a salesman? to weigh and sell the things to his customers.

The shopkeeper is in charge of a big box into which the sales money goes. He is a clever man. He treats the customers politely. He smiles when he finds the shop area full of men, women and children's buyers. The shop remains always open. At 8 P.M. the shop opens. He earns a lot. This business has made him very rich. He keeps the best things for sale.
