HOLIDAYS AND HOW TO SPEND THEM

Holidays are days of rest. There is no routine at work a student follows several days at school. His tedious mind looks forward to holidays for relief.

In the past, men passed holidays in prayer and worship. Even now on Sundays the Christians attend the church, the Muslims, the Mosque and a Hindu temple for prayer and worship in their own way.

During holidays it would be wrong for the students to waste time in idle activities. Most children are fond of idle talks and useless chit-chats. A walk in the open, boating, playing and games are holiday amusements.

School children should have enough of them. They could join in a picnic party, visit friends and relatives. Subjects in which they are weak may be taken up safely. Books on travels, brave deeds, fiction should engage their mind

These are hard days. Life has become hard to live. Difficult is the tasks all should do to meet the call of time. All these keep students busy. They welcome these holidays and feel relieved when they come.

Work and rest should go side by side. Days of hard work need days of rest. Hence is felt the importance of holidays.
