A VILLAGE MARKET
The village market at Gabakund is held in a mango grove on the south bank of the Bhargabi,
The market sits every Tuesday and Saturday.
You can see rows of small huts there.
On the market day, the huts are full of different kinds of articles for sale.
People from the nearby villages gather here in large numbers to buy and sell things.
Rice, pulses, vegetables, fresh and dried fish, ready-made clothes and other articles of daily use are sold here.
These articles are dearer at the village shops.
There are also sweetmeat stalls for children in the market.
My father often goes to this market to buy some useful things.
I go with him to eat sweetmeats or to buy strings and coloured paper for my kites.
